October 2002
October 2002: This was our first benefit concert. We sang with Jesse Winchester as invited guests. The concert was titled, "Celebrating the Music of Our Lives" and was a black tie affair held at the Grand Theatre. It was organized by Beth Wiley and all proceeds went to The Children's Fund of the Frontenac Children's Aid Society.

December 2002:Our "Moon of Winter" concert at LCVI high school. It featured individual contributions from choir members and repertoire that was in keeping with the season. It was ideal for lots of audience participation.

March 2003:Georgette Fry and her new choir, "That Choir." Georgette Fry is a well known Kingston jazz musician and this was the choir's debut performance.

Tom Leighton & Mark Haines

June 2003
June 2003: Tom Leighton & Mark Haines. These 2 highly skilled musicians had the choir and audience alike energized with their Celtic, toe tapping performance featuring Mark on the fiddle and Tom on the accordion.

January, 2004: 2 benefit concerts featuring contemporary folk musicians, Night Sun. The proceeds from these 2 concerts went to Martha's Table and Ryandale House. Martha's table serves hot meals to people on limited incomes and Ryandale House provides shelter to the homeless.

Jan 2005
June 2004: Folk singer, Ian Tamblyn and for the first time, a guest conductor, Nicola Oddy. The concert was entitled, "Songs of Healing, Songs of Life." Our regular conductor, Andy Rush, had taken the term off in keeping with his goal of Open Voices not being dependant on any one conductor.

January 2005: Folk Francophone singers, La Corde De Bois. Their music featured an extremely energetic fiddle player and clogger. Their unique performing style had the whole auditorium tapping their feet and grooving to the beat. This was the first guest artist that was hired by Open Voices to stay for the weekend and lead music workshops. The concert was a complete sellout.

June 2005: Our concert was entitled, ”Soul Food” and it featured original compositions by members within our own choir: One of our members, Tim Aylesworth, has produced a CD that he released just after this concert. We also included compositions by Kat and Bill Hatt, Ros Schwartz, Gord McDiarmid, Linda Jack and Sue and David Lyon.

Jan 2006: Our concert was titled, “Stories of Canada,” and it featured singer/songwriter Tom Lips. Tom is a gifted singer/songwriter from Ottawa Ontario and he has written more than two hundred songs, some of them quite humorous. The genre is mainly folk.

May 2006: The concert coming up in May will feature Eve Goldberg as our guest artist. Her music includes a blend of folk, blues, bluegrass, swing, jazz, old-time, gospel and our repertoire has been chosen to reflect this. It will include a mix of traditional spiritual, world spiritual and gospel.
