A 23rd Psalm for Open Voices Caffeine-AddictsWritten and Contributed by: Henry Clarke My cup of coffee is the shepherd that will guide me get through this loooong morning, I shall not want: any more than ten cups, I promise! My caffeine lord leads me down the pathways towards Judy’s pond’s still waters. It revives my sole… means of motivation: watching everyone else here show their fatigue as well! It leads me in the paths of righteousness of at least pretending (yawn) to sing along . Even though I walk through my life’s valley of the shadow of dearth (of meaning) , I shall fear no evil – O Java, your warmth and tastiness art within me – the sugar and cream, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table (hey, hospitality committee: any donuts?) before me in the presence of mine enemies, er , I mean my fellow tenors; Ah, they annoyest me much with their yawning and stumbling… as their cups overflow --onto my feet !; Thou pourest me that extra cup to help me rise up in the morning and feel the joy of living. Surely goodness and mercy and Andy shall follow me all the hours of this morning. And I shall dwell and sing in this house of Open Voices - all the Wednesdays (and some Saturdays) of my life. All–men and All–women! **************************************** |
