You Thought of Me!
Contributed by: Henry Clarke
Adaption by Henry Clarke of “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera,
with apologies to Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber
You thought of Me, thought of me fondly,
when I said goodbye.
Remembered me once in a while -
a promise one of you said they’d try.
Then you found that, once again, you longed
to take me back for free -
Ah, that was that precious moment,
you spared a spot for me
We never said our love was evergreen,
or as unchanging as the sea -
ah but yoou still remembered
stopped and thought of Me . . .
Think of all the things
we've shared and seen -
don't think about the things
which might have been . . .
You thought of me, thought of me waking,
silent and resigned.
Imagined me, trying so hard
to put frailty from my mind.
When I recall those days
look back on all those times,
think of the things we never did.-
There will never be a day,
when I’ll regret what I missed . . .
We never said our love was evergreen,
or as unchanging as the sea./ -
Ah but yoou still remembered
stopped and thought of Me.
Can it be? Can it be my dear choir friends?
Bravo! Especially you Dave (Tudin)!
Long ago, it seems so long ago
how frail and vulnerable I was to see.
I may not have been with you,
but you remembered Me.
Flowers fade,
So do songs of choir terms,
They have their seasons, so do we.
But… now please proomise eeach other,
we’ll always think of We!
Ahh ah ah ah ah ah; ahh ah ah ah ah ah ah…
(Sopranos): Ahh ah ah ah; ah ah ah … Ahh ah ah ah;
ah ah ah…ah AH (hold)…of… We!
(Pause)
My dearest friends and choristers: Bravi, bravi, bravisimi…
